When I came home the other night, I noticed strange marks all over the stairwell in my building. I wonder what they mean, since the gas, water, and electricity lines are running in a main utility shaft at the centre of the stairwell, and not in its corners, and the rain pipes run outside along the balconies. In any case, it does seem that my hope for quiet renovations has just been killed…
